I have a Brill Luxus 38 reel mower without a bag attachment. Will the grass catchers that are currently being sold as "fits all Brill mowers" fit my older model? I would like to use the mower with the grass catcher.
Thanks.

@Peggy, Buy a sharpening kit that does not require you to take off the wheels and rub stuff on the reel, this one should do.
You can cut it down to fit just about any size. http://www.cleanairgardening.com/prison-reel-sharpener.html
If your mower is 18 inches, get the version for the Scotts and cut it down to 18 inches. A hack saw will cut this down in seconds.

I inherited a Great States Feather mower that needs sharpening. While I can pop the hubcap off as the first step, I can't figure out how to remove the wheel. Any thoughts? There doesn't seem to be the same kind of E or C ring holding the wheel to the axle as described in the sharpening kit that I have.

I purchased an used, older model of Great States reel mower for my grandson to use on his small yard and he is telling me he can only get it to cut when taking it backwards. What is he doing wrong?

Thanks.

@Phil. S,

I’m not an expert on antique reel mowers, but this gentleman is. http://users.crocker.com/~jricci/
I recommend contacting this site. He should know about your mower.

I have an old Great state model 400 push reel mower with a self adjusting ball bearing, it has a good amount of rust on it and I plan to clean it and paint it its original colors. anyway I was wondering about how old it is and if it is worth anything how much. Thanks,

                                                                -Phil
